Aligned for the Assignment: New Beginnings Require New Alignment
Let me keep it real with you — alignment isn’t cute, but it’s critical.
It’s the eighth month of the year. Biblically, that symbolizes new beginnings. I’m also walking into my 45th birthday, and I’m not the same woman I was five years ago… or even five months ago. And I shouldn’t be. Because growth demands adjustment.
But here’s the thing nobody wants to say out loud: you can’t step into a new season with old alignment-Let’s talk about it.
You ever drive a car that’s out of alignment?
You’re trying to stay in your lane, minding your business — but that car keeps pulling off to the side. You didn’t turn the wheel. You didn’t give it permission. But it still veers. It’s uncomfortable. It’s unsafe. And if you don’t correct it? It’ll cost you.-That’s how life be.
When you’re out of alignment — with your values, your vision, your God-given assignment — you will naturally drift into places, people, and patterns that were never meant for you.
You’ll:
Say yes when your spirit is screaming no.
Stay in rooms that suffocate you just because they’re familiar.
Keep relationships alive that your soul already grieved.
It looks like you’re moving, but you’re not going anywhere.
Alignment isn’t just about what’s in front of you — it’s about what’s underneath you…. And very much about what’s ahead of you !
The unseen things. The heart posture. The motives. The conversations you don’t post online. The therapy you’ve been avoiding. The boundaries you keep saying you’ll set.
When your life is in alignment — everything hits different:
Your yes means something.
Your peace becomes non-negotiable.
Your schedule matches your standards.
Your circle supports your growth, not your drama.
I’ve been paying attention to what keeps popping up in my spirit. And the word is alignment — not acceleration, not applause, not attachment… alignment. That means some people can’t come. Some habits have to die. Some seasons won’t get closure. You just have to walk away aligned and unapologetic.
